Hildebrand Receives First Team All-America Honors at AARWBA Banquet
01.16.2010
On Saturday night, much of the country's racing press was assembled at John Force Racing's shop in Brownsburg, IN to honor the members of the American Auto Racing Writers and Broadcasters Association's Auto Racing All-America Team. For the second time in his short career, J.R. Hildebrand received the"Horsepower" award for First Team honors in the "At Large" Category. He first was chosen to the First Team in the At Large category after his record breaking 2006 season in the US F2000 Champioship.
"I'm really honored to be chosen for this award by AARWBA (pronounced "aruba"). To be joining such racing greats as Dario Franchitti and Mark Martin on the 2009 team, plus recognizing the many legends that have received a "Horsepower" in the past, is a wonderful honor" said Hildebrand. "I couldn't have done this without the support of many, including may sponsors, parents and the fantastic team that I had at AGR/AFS racing."
After the banquet wrapped up, a few of the guests remained to take an unsupervised tour through the entire John Force Racing facility. J.R. and several memeber of the AGR/AFS team had a chance to get a real "behind the scenes" look about what goes into a championship NHRA Funny Car effort.
All-in-all it was a great evening shared with fellow enthusiasts. J.R. is still working on his plans for 2010 and hopes to be able to make some exciting announcements in the near future.
