J.R. Hildebrand won his 10th race in 11 starts this year to clinch the 2006 Cooper Tires Formula Ford 2000 Championship at the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course today. His victory also sets a new record for wins in a season, with the previous count being nine by 2005 champ Jay Howard. With three races still to run this year, Hildebrand will look to set the bar even higher for further F2000 competitors, and begin to explore his options for bigger and better in the coming seasons.
