The Indy Racing League and Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire have announced an agreement which sees the Firestone brand assume title sponsorship of the Indy Racing League's official development series and reestablish the series name as Firestone Indy Lights. Before a breif sabbatical, then becoming the Infiniti Pro Series, then Indy Pro Series, the Firestone Indy Lights Series was the pinnacle of development series in North America. Many past and current Indycar drivers and champions made their way to the ranks of CART and the IRL through the series, and drivers will now be able to follow that same path to greatness.
